About Me

Almost all subjects concerning unusual facts or issues interest me. My reading covers, among other things , writings like autobiographies and biographies, which bring out various aspect of human nature as revealed in certain actual happenings. 

Films,music,literature,arts,sports,philosophy and spirituality are among my other interests and writing on these subjects is one of my hobbies and favourite pursuits. Springing pleasant surprises on others with a bit of altruism is another source of my pleasure.

An alumnus of the Panjab University, from where I did my masters in English literature, I retired after rendering a long,  demanding service in an office of the Government of India . I am now an octogenarian. 

I am a freelance writer.My letters, articles and features on various subjects have been published in newspapers and periodicals such as  the Hindustan Times and the monthly magazine, "India Perspectives", which is brought out by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs in 17 languages of the world and circulated across the globe. The Press Trust of India has  released for publication a good number of features contributed by me.  A few of my letters also appeared in the "Woes and Echos" section of the former most popular cine periodical, " Filmindia". 

Sharing knowledge and experiences with others with a touch of humour is , I feel , quite rewarding. One can't  tickle oneself but has to be tickled by someone else to unleash laughter. Hence , one writes for others to entertain them and bring some light in their lives. Hopefully , the title, "Light and Delight" of this blog, selected for these considerations , will justify itself .
